Music Industry Standard for a Finders Fee?

A acquaintance of mine is looking to make a name for himself as a rapper, he asked me if I could find him a reputable feature for a track he's working on. Short story, I found one for him.

I told him from the beginning that there will be a finders fee. Now I'm not sure what to charge him. I'm definitely not trying to do him dirty, just want to charge him a finders fee. Is there an industry standard for this? I was thinking about charging %50, but I wasn't sure.

with the internet, there should be no finders fee

finders fee's arent generally a practice for securin a feature lol

You might have to look in other industries...depending on how well known the feature is too is gonna factor into your finders fee

He's gotta pay for the feature still though. And All that stuff is easily accessible though, so I don't see where the work went in. Unless you got a good deal on the feature price

If the feature is secured then why shouldn't get paid? He went out and found him a person to work with, even if ya "don't see the work", he delivered someone for him.

That's the job of a manager though. A manager is suppose to go out and find the artist people to work with.

You only get a finder's fee if you get him signed to a label.
And that's generally 15%...

It sounds like you want to be a manager too..
And that's fine, just tell him those are your demands.
If someone is serious about it, and you're not trying to get over on them.
They will take you up on your offer.
But I'd ask for more if you're a manager and you want a finder's fee..
Generally it's one or the other..

I have a brother Managing a Female Group..
They got a couple songs/videos out..
He's been producing/engineering/writing with them
And they fully accept that he's going to get a percentage of what they sign for
Because he's been there since the beginning...
