I work for Sony and I beleive Sony Consumer Electronics head office is at that locaiton....

yes 16 is pretty weak dude esp with 8 years experience , My first and only job ive had i was getting paid 18/hr without even being a graduate. I finally grd in a few days and next year minimum i am looking at ia $20.

is the US really the land of opportunity or that's just Canada now?

I actually think the only way you can collect unemployment is to be fired or laid off...if your previous employer is a real douche, they can try to fight it and stop you from collecting unemployment benefits, but it would cost them more in the long run and they are already paying into it anyway.

Not unless you did something deliberate ti get you fired like stealing. I work for Directv and we fire people all the time for performance and they get unemployment with no issues at all.

I'd say avoid careerbuilders....but i landed 2 jobs before off of monster.com, that site work they just dont have many postings.

i find Indeed.com is a good job search site. Don't get spammed with a bunch of offers like Monster and Careerbuilder.

At $15 you are definitely selling yourself short with a degree. Find a field you are interested in. Generate your resume and tailor it for that specific field. BLAST the hell out of EVERY employer in that field until you get the results you are looking for. If you want $20, ask for $25. If you tell employers you only want $15 or $16, that is what they will pay you.

Also, do not be scared to take contract to hire positions from temp agencies. You may not get full benefits but they will help you get what you want.
