You just have 1 bad credit card debt? Trust me, you can get cars and all types of stuff with so-so credit. I'm talking about $10,000 in outstanding debt. But they will push your interest rate up, good credit is more about interest rate than it is about getting the actual loan. Most people have good credit, like myself because of that debit atm card, I swipe everything with that card. Only reason why I don't have a credit card, I recommend people to set one of those up before running out and getting a cred,it card. I get about 13 letters per week offering me credit cards.

I just got a call from a creditor saying I haven't made a payment in 6 months. And the truth is I haven't because I forgot all about the payments and thought it was junk mail. Because I got the credit card while I was in Korea. But it's a 1,200 credit card which was only a 1K limit. The dude said I had to pay the entire 1K off now.

Shizz What's Good???

well you can dispute it.. when the address that you had when you were in korea... that would be your best angle. If you have something showing that you residecne was in another place then just dispute it as "Not your debt" they have to come up with some that proves that you owe then. but they have to be able to confirm that address which is ususly hard to do.

Yeah this credit stuff does work, I disputed an old negative item (from about 3 years ago) and it was erased immediately off my credit report. I've just called in to have my credit reports delivered to my house, once I get them, I'm gonna start using those dispute letters you gave out Shizz, hopefully that will put my credit back where it needs to be.

Okay so even though they had the address I had in Korea and the address I have now which. I can dispute it, because I was paying it in Korea but stop when I got to my new address.

Pretty much you can play it off as thats not being you debt. if you paid it at you new address then you will have a problem but if you didnt then it will be easier.

Well I paid it when I gave them my new address and then I didn't get anything for like 2 months. And then I started to receive it, but thought it was one of those junk mail jumpoffs. And I want to get it fixed because it's with Chase!

yeah I just disputed my negative item online too. if the company that you have the account with doesn't respond to the credit agency about your dispute, they will delete it from your credit report.

I didn't do the free credit report thing, I actually called each of the 3 credit bureaus to request a report to be sent postal mail. I figured it was the best way since, its actually cheaper when you call over the phone and usually its sent within 1 business day.

has been my savior for years. i monitor any and all changes in my equifax report since it is the most used report and then i get my other reports too and i can dispute right on the website. FYI....Equifax will run multiple files with tons of incorrect information in a heart beat. Prepare for a long hard battle if this is the case.
