Hosting a website or domains

so let's say I bought this, will I have to use it now? I dont have website up now but will this upcoming year

will it make sense to snatch up the .net/.org/.info in addition to the .com(which)I prefer as the main site?

if yes to the above question, will I have to pay for each site or I can just snatch up the name on the (net/org/info)& direct traffic to the .com?

You don't need to buy the .net/.org/.info... as long as you got the .com you're good but you can if you want to own the other domains so anyone else can't get em.

A site is different than a domain. For a website you need to buy seperate hosting (hosting is what holds your website files)

Yes, you can buy the other domains and have the user directed to the .com.

So what i suggest you do is snatch the .com and the others if you like, buy some hosting, put up a website and have the info/org/net direct to the .com

I didnt. I had alot of questions

if you want a website you need 2 things:
1. domain (yourname.com or .org or .net etc etc)
2. hosting (computer space to store your files so everyone can see your site 24/7)

godaddy offers both

so you could have used the sale for either one.

You don't have to do !! when you buy a domain. Godaddy will just put up a placeholder page with a bunch of their ads until you decide to do something with it.

But there's really no excuse to not get a host. You can get one for $3 a month.

I didnt want to host the site because I dont have an idea on how I want the site to be yet & more importantly, Im waiting for logo to come back before I host a site.
