Watching AVNR for a potential buyout sometime in the near future. No rumors yet but someone on Friday picked up about $140,000 worth of the March 2013 calls in 1 second.

Already has an approved drug, so it fits as a potential M&A target from the big drug companies.

Thinking about grabbing some December calls this week.

Earnings I may play this week:

OC Calls. Someone bought 3,200 of the 28x August calls at the ask of .65 for $208,000. Earnings are August 1st pre market.

ONNN Calls. Someone bought 3,538 of the 7x August calls at the ask of .35 for $123,830. Earnings are August 2nd after the close.

PBI Puts. Someone bought 5,805 of the 13x August puts at the ask of .80 for $464,400 ... Earnings are August 2nd after the close.


The PBI looks very interesting. Someone also has a position of 20,000 contracts at around 1.10 on the January 2013 puts that was bought at the end of May and is still open. So lots of bearish bets on this name.

Probably gonna play all of em this week. Or at least OC and PBI since those are the 2 largest ones.

media07 how do you feel about the markets this week? Bullish or bearish? Looking at the weekly SPY we're definitely looking bullish from last weeks performance. I'm thinking we rotate to 1400 and maybe even test the top at 1420.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking flat to down this week. Starting to get a bit more bearish for the next couple of months.

I have XLF October puts that I bought this past week which I'm still holding.

Using a custom scanner I set up on Etrade and just reading the tape.

Oh yeah... a lot of economic data coming out this week. Some of you might not pay much attention to it, but the Fed is speaking as well. Just something to look out for...could have major impact on markets.

Bought the OC calls. Small gamble, 4 contracts at .70.

I'm thinking we pullback to 1370 tomorrow.

Perhaps economic data that comes out tomorrow and rest of the week will give us a potential sell off. I personally think we move little higher until Bernanke speaks on Wed and Thurs. Let's wait and see.

Are you waiting for a sell off to ensue so you can get some stocks for cheap? If we see a triple digit sell off, I'd suggest looking at some longer term plays. All depends how you feel about it though[pic]

OC ballin right now. Up 4% ..calls are already at 1.10.

I'm getting in on some $CLF 42x weekly calls. If Bernanke says what market wants to hear, high beta stocks will be a good place to be. It's a gamble.

Bought MTOR 5x August calls at .25 before the close. Earnings are tomorrow morning, getting some big buying on those Sept calls.
