Alberta - oil rigs - no experience-make $40 an hour

So Last winter I started in the oil rigs. It was pretty cool. No experience getting paid top dollar. The cold didn`t bother me because you work your[..] off and wear layers upon layers you start to sweat and !!. So I ended up on a good rig man everyone treated me awesomely.

It`s two weeks on and then they fly you home one week off. You get 140$ tax free to pay for your hotel and food. so you end up making 5 grand every two weeks. It`s a pretty sweet job if you dont have kids or a wife.

Anyways just putting that out there.

It`s mostly white people and by that I mean theres some real tough Aryan brothrhood type of mother!!ers. But if you can hold your own, put your head down and take !! when the !!s due then your pretty much set. I've met a few east indians and they were some of the coolest people I have ever met.

I had a great time ehhh most of the time. Some times wre god awful but the money is riduculous.

If anyone has any questions hit me up in this thread. I mean the job pays top dollar because your away from family and friends and if you have a wife and kids that !! is just harsh, but you make a lot of money.

yup that oil money aint no joke. down here in south texas its really starting to pop off. some of my boys and other ppl i knw be making like 1-2g's a week

some1 jusssst told me about something similar in alaska. 30 an hour and the same 2 week setup u were talking about. said his brother has been caking up from that since 89

2 weeks on 1 week off is slavery, now if it was 30 days on 30 days off now we are talking, good money though and very hard work, i'm guessing you took a floorhand training course?

if you guys make 40 how much do the petroleum engineers make that work out there?

I am from Nova Scotia and the amount of friends that went out west to work is ridiculous.

I took a floorhand course but I don't think they do it anymore. People will teach you on the spot anyways. The oil companies didn't give a !! about the course, all you need is your H2S.

. . 12 hour days for 13 days 24 hours off in the middle than 1 week off. The less days on your paycheck the better. Taxes eat around up to $1500.

8 hours you make $27 and 4 hours you make $40.
