Woke up to my laptop drenched in beer. Help.

Is there anything I can do at this point to salvage it? It won't turn on at all.

Don't currently have the money for a new one. Writing this from a second, !!ty lap top that I used before the current one. Internet is slow as !! on this one, plus I lost all my bookmarks and downloads.

Beer? Nah, that's gonna be sticky to the inside components....try drying it out, take out the battery and try wiping it down with a cloth spray with windex/409 to get excess "beer" up

Looks like you just !!ed yourself, but you can take out your hard drive out to salvage if need be

It's a Dell Vostro 3500. How do I remove the Hard drive? I just took the battery off.

Don't even know where the hard drive is located. Srs.

No rice laying around and I'm about to have to head to a family thing for Easter so I don't have time to go get a bunch of rice. So I currently have the battery on my kitchen counter and my laptop on a corner table in a tent like position half open [pic].

Hard drive is still in there because I can't find a damn screw driver small enough.

You wouldn't be able to just swap the hard drive unless you buy the exact PC. Otherwise, you're going to have to get the correct drivers.

What you can do is get another laptop or PC, and mount your hard drive(if you save it in time) using a kit. Usually the kit can be bought for like 7 bucks online if you find a sale.

Here's an example. It says $30, but honestly, it's the first one I saw.

big waste of rice man. your laptop is gone. beer is much worse than water since it contains alcohol which doesnt react too well with machines.

take out your hard drive, let it dry and hope you can salvage your data.

the only reason I said take out the battery is because you can get a new laptop and then transfer over your saved stuff....like music, photos, videos, etc......depends on how bad your laptop was soaked that it could work but if you got it really wet(pause) then you're !!ed

Your saved files aren't stored on your battery.

Your laptop is probably toast...I dropped just a little bit of beer on mines one time and I had to dry that !! completely out before it would start up again. I haven't had any problems since though....
