Windows Phone 8: Samsung to release a Galaxy S3 like device? (Nokia Lost?) |

![]() It looks like Nokia is in big trouble, a leaked document confirmed that mobile phone Samsung is building two Windows Phone 8 smartphones apart from making high-end Android handsets. The leaked docs claim that one of the unannounced Samsung WP8 device will include an HD display and possibly with dual-core or quad-core chipset — similar to the high-end Android-based Samsung Galaxy S3. As reported by The Verge, Samsung has revealed two handsets during its court case with Apple related to patent infringements filed by both sides. Documents submitted by Samsung, as part of the trial, has confirmed the existence of two unannounced Windows Phone 8 handsets based on the logo inserted to the exhibits. The high-end unannounced Windows Phone 8 is named “Odyssey,” and it will reportedly include a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel back-facing camera, a front-facing 2-megapixel camera and LTE, HSPA+ support. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S3 features a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED Pentile display, 8MP back and 1.9MP front cameras, and quad-core Exynos chips. Apparently, the upcoming Windows Phone 8 platform now supports multi-core processors so it is plausible that Samsung will use its chips or a quad-core or dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Meanwhile, the mid-range Windows Phone 8, internally named as Marco, will reportedly pack a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 resolution) Super AMOLED touchscreen display, a back-facing 5-megapixel camera and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera. The unannounced mid-range handset will also support LTE and HSPA+. Windows Phone 8, according to Microsoft, will arrive by the end of November. In short, it will compete with Apple’s iPhone 5 and a slew of new Android and Nexus devices. Windows Phone 8: Samsung to release a Galaxy S3 like device? | Pop Herald Technology News |

| If this happens I think the Samsung WP8 galaxy will do pretty well, but android is alot more open than windows so I think won't be as effective like the android version. | |

| Nokia dumb for not choosing Android to begin with.. Now that Sammy is doing Galaxy WP8 it's over for Nokia. I think WP will be more popular once Sammy releases the phone | |

Windows portfolio > 1.4 billion Windows PC's 44 million + Xbox 360 Enterprise dominant What does Google have to offer? Android because it has 50 something percent marketshare. Android marketshare doesn't have !! on Windows PC market which is what Nokia is banking on for people to move over to WP. If you have a Win Pc, 360 why would you want an Android?

Windows has always been there just not on mobile. With Windows popularity it should be easy to catch up to apps. RT --> WP8

| [pic] Church! People keep thinkin that WP is gonna be a flash in the pan, but with the trifecta of Windows 8, xbox360 (smartglass and new dashboard) and WP8 (not to mention surface tablets) M$ is gonna be getting it in! | |

| The only non-Android platform that intrigues me ever so slightly. In the end I may still slide with Android but, WP8 seems ever so tempting. M$ is a rich man's RIM with the mobile goods being they at least are giving -some- real temptation outside of iOS & Android. If manufactures launch out between the majors M$ could -maybe- flirt with 10% by the 1st qtr of '13 perhaps¿ | |

Windows Phone cant even outsell blackberries. !! they had record sales until last year when they single handily ruined their image with giving their phone !!ty battery life. Judging Nokia track record of build, battery life and design, i pretty much think Nokia would be far more successful than HTC. WHen you think of HTC you see !!ty battery life. Even the one x and evo 4g lte fixed that problem they still ruined their rep to point its beyond saving.

Surface didn't !! over any OEM's it actually strengthen the Microsoft brand. Now OEM's have a clear cut design to go after no need to copy Apple products Microsoft products set the tone and OEM's ride that momentum. Win on both sides. Mobile department didn't flop. Want to check sales Lumia is actually holding its on. Satisfaction ratings are high developer support is good. You want to talk about Marketshare HUH? Alright lets talk about it why is Windows Phone less than 5% because you literally have no Windows Phones on Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular and Metro PCS. You have 3 Windows Phones on ATT and 1 on Tmobile. There you go have fun trying to get more than 5% marketshare. WP8 will fix that first WP needs more hardware. WP8 allows the use of multicore processors etc = more hardware. WP8 needs more carrier support. WP8 allows more carrier customization = more carrier support. Both problems fixed with WP8 so marketshare should be a lot better next year.

How many carriers is the HTC One X line available on probably all of them how many for Titan... only on ATT how many for radar.... only on T-Mobile. Does LG have a second gen WP NO. So here you go you cant point out stupid little facts like HTC and LG Android phones outsold Windows that's because marketing, retail everything is not on the same playing field.
