Windows 8: 60 million licenses sold and climbing |

![]() While AT&T is seeing success with Windows Phone sales, Microsoft isn't doing to bad with Windows 8. During the 11th Annual J.P. Morgan Tech Forums at CES 2013, Microsoft announced that they have sold 60 million Windows 8 licenses to date. According to Windows Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer Tami Reller this includes both upgrades and sales to OEMs for new devices. The sales pace is similar to what Microsoft experienced with Windows 7. As far as Windows 8 apps and games are concerned, growth continues to rise with the number of apps being available quadrupling since launch. As an added bonus, Microsoft recently passed the 100 million app download mark. Source: Windows Blog |

| I think some people had a problem understanding the importance of this OS, but they soon will once Apple and the rest follow, this type of systematic connection between all services/products is the future. But wait for Apple to make it look better and sue Microsoft for copying them haha | |

| Persistance? Nah, it aint even about me hating microsoft. It's a failed product because consumers can't find a reason to upgrade. Having said that, I have it on my new laptop and it's wonderful. Everything runs smoothly, the bootup time is lightning fast, and the start menu is glorious. I can see why people don't want to upgrade, but in no way is this product bad. | |

| Im glad you are enjoying it, I have to say I am biased because im a Microsoft fan, im sure people can see that lol, but you seem to really like it which is great! I bought a new laptop because of W8 its also got SSD so you're right it boots stupidly fast, but I never really found that an issue to be fair! but I understand what your saying though, change isn't something that people always want! W8 in terms of visual is very different so people can find it hard to use! but I think after you use it a few times you will realize its actually very good and it can actually help with your work! im not the most technical person, but im doing construction in Iraq and for me the apps ive downloaded are helping me be more proactive in terms of my work! so at the end of the day it depends of how much its helping you as a consumer! you "paid" and to be honest money isn't that easy to make now days! so if your not happy with something let the bastards know regardless of who it is! At the end of the day, this is why forums exist for free speech! so if you dislike anything it doesn't make you weird or me for that matter, we will post what we like. That's what it is at the end of the day, our perception, everything on here is someones perception! No one is right or wrong! but I want to post fact rather than opinion because it makes it more likely to portray whats happening in the marketplace! | |

| MS is offering Win8 Pro upgrade (from 7) for $40 until Jan 31st...I need this in my life...from a design/visual aspect, I think Win8 is f*cking gorgeous...super clean looking...very attractive...I personally haven't used it yet but i've sat with some of the developers I work with who have it on their machines and it looks like it runs great...they like it too and say its seems very st@ble...also, back to the design, the font(s) they used are >>>> | |
