When I Sell My 4S Next Month..

I have a black 32gb iPhone 4s. Pretty close to mint condition, still have the box, along with all the accessories originally included. I plan on selling it early next month before the 5 comes out.

My question is, do you think $500 is too much for a "buy it now" price? Is that just going to scare people away? What would you recommend as the highest amount I should plan on getting for it?

Do you think it'd have an impact on the evading price if I tried to sell it right now, versus waiting until about the 2nd week in September?

Yes it would, but do you have a back up phone? I mean is the 4S the phone you've been using?

I was gonna do the same but I said !! it I'll probably just wait until the 5S or whatever comes out.

No, I don't have a back up phone, but my plan was I could list it on ebay right now. The auction won't end for a week. Then I could just tell the auction winner I'll be out of town or whatever for 2 weeks so I won't have to actually send the phone out until I've bought the new one.

Is it the GSM model or CDMA?

Nah bro I've done it plenty of times in the past. Just had to let the winning bidder know as soon as they won the auction so they weren't sitting around wondering why a week had past & their phone wasn't there.

For $500 I would rather hop on eBay when the 5 is released and buy the newer phone.

Now if you got it unlocked and sold it to someone on T-Mobile or International you could get $500 easy.

I sold my black 16GB 4S to some dude for $525 but my phone was unlocked by AT&T and that was nearly 2 months ago and I only bought the phone for $360

so you have the GSM version then. That is a more attractive model globally because most overseas networks are GSM. Sprint and Verizon networks are CDMA. Also T-Mobile customers in the US can use the phone as well every though its not officially supported.

Just sell it whenever the new one comes out. You are guaranteed to get at least enough for the new one and then some.

The bad part is I just upgraded to the 4s in October though, so I won't get any type of discount on this new iphone. I'll have to pay full price. :( So I figure if I can get at least $500 for my 4s I'll only have to come out of pocket about $300 for the new one.

If you are happy with AT&T just sign a new two-year and get it for the $200 or $300 price. Thats what I usually do.

Youre screwed bra, I sold my 4s on craigslist like two months ago for 300. Had to keep dropping the price for someone to bite.

That's what I usually do, but I usually am at the point where I'm eligible for an upgrade. I only signed this new 2 year contract aprx. 10 months ago. :(

Damn 4 real? Did you have a 16gb or something? If not, mind me asking where you're from? Cuz I just looked on my local Craigslist and most of the 32gb blacks like I mine are listed between $400 - $450.
