What android-based phone do ya'll think is the best out right now for rooting and rom's? I have a Droid 3, got Liberty on it, just checked XDA after months figuring there'd be some new !! and less issues they had 6+ months ago.. WRONGGGGGG.

On top of the keyboard hinge being kind of "loose." The development just aint cutting it for me. What are the phones out right now (not brand new) that are est@blished in the development community and have people putting in work??

those are the two main websites i go to look at roms and kernels. Take a look, you have a LOT of options if you do go for the galaxy nexus. But are you buying a phone off contract or upgrading, if upgrading i would wait till galaxy s III coming out next month. Galaxy S III might have a good dev community on release date.

Im using ICS on my droid INCREDIBLE. the first one! and its running smooth :)

droidforums has alot to choose from as well..

I had the Droid 3 before the nexus....there are a bunch rooms for the D3...

I'm on Liberty, its the only one truly st@ble... It seems basically all them other ones have broken cameras, camcorders or sound in some way. All of which I need since for some reason my jobs blackberry lines are down so we're using personal devices to take pictures.

Honestly Droid 3's community on XDA is the reason I'm throwing my hands in the air like !! it I'ma just buy something well before I'm even allowed to upgrade. !!'s pathetic imo.

Does the Galaxy Nexus google is selling on Play even work on VZW?

Motorola locks there boot loaders so dev support is small if you plan on rooting stay away from Motorola phones

Believe me coming from the Droid 3 to the nexus, I know what your going through...the Google play nexus is GSM only, so it doesn't work on Verizon. I just got a second line to get my nexus at upgrade price, then activated a dumb phone on the new line to avoid data charges...

Shiit I already got 2 lines and can't afford another lol. I only went with the d3 cuz of the physical keyboard. But it being just a year old and outdated like crazy ugh..

tough decision here, because the galaxy nexus has such a great dev community and is a damn good phone in it's own right, but remember it was released 6 months ago already, so if you really want the latest and greatest just wait a few more weeks for the SGS3, which is def gonna be an amazing phone...lol my ultimate recommendation would be to wait for the next nexus phone, but I doubt you want to wait that long...

btw has it been confirmed that the SGS3 on Verizon will have the spec bump from 1GB of RAM to 2GB?

get the s3 it's on all major carriers / faster / battery / plus sammy will give u updates till next year it's there flagship
