Thinking about switching to android

 Thinking about switching to android
By _JAY_ - 06-18-2012, 09:55 AM - Boxden > BX Tech

Is there any phone as smooth and responsive as the iPhone?
I need a bigger screen and 4g.
I wont be able to afford the new iPhone.
I had an android like 2 years ago and it was the the worst.
Battery was[..].
I can't deal with any lag.
Games were laggy. Response was laggy.
I'm sure there's been improvements since.

Windows Phone is just as smooth as the iPhone, waaay easier to get custom ringtones as the iPhone, great battery life. No lag like the iPhone. Not sure what carrier you're with but there's a few 4G windows phones on ATT. I suggest playing with both iPhone and windows phone...
both are miles ahead of android

I have the iPhone pre paid with t mobile. I pay $50 cash a month for unlimited talk text n web. The web is only edge. I don't get any lag. I just can't stand that I can't stream music. Pandora works but it be sounding like a scratched cd.

^^^ this is very biased advice. Windows and IOS are not miles ahead of Android. Newer Android phones are lag free and have way more apps than Windows phones. Either the One X series or the GSIII are the best phones to get. I would recommend the GSIII. If you are on a budget than go for the GSII. Very fast and smooth phone.

Try out the newer Android phones in the store. You will see very quickly that they do not have any lag. If your major concern with going back to Android is lag or battery life, newer phones do not have those two issues.

Do you mean with or without a contract? I'm[..]uming off contract because you have a cheap pre paid plan. What's your budget then?

How am I being biased. I did not state that IOS or Windows is slow or miles behind Android. To say that Android is far behind both IOS and Windows is bias. You can not honestly say it is not. Technically speaking, Android is in the same ball park as both IOS and Windows. A lot of people would even say Android is more advanced. I did not state that. I just stated facts. Android OS has more apps than Windows. Android OS is no longer full of lag or have battery issues. What the previous man posted completely !!ted on Android.

The person who created this thread mentioned lag and battery life along with wanting to switch back to Android. The unbiased response would have been something like this:

"Android is no longer full of lag and have battery issues. Newer phones have great battery life and are smooth. But I personally think that a Windows phone or Iphone would be better."

This statement is biased:

"I suggest playing with both iPhone and windows phone...both are miles ahead of android"

I prefer Android over the other two, but I would never state that Android is miles ahead of the other two. That is just plain biased nonsense.

I'm just saying in general. I know that you're a android fan and all which is fine, but most of yall android fans are extremely biased about yall phones. I have played with some of the new android phones, and yes they are improved but they're not as lag free or battery improved as you're making them out to be. I saw a few lags here and there like on the web browser, but not as much as the old ones. Their are still some articles on new android phones on how to improve battery life which still tells you that their battery life still isn't as good like you're making it out to be. So to me, you're still being biased.

I'm not ignoring your facts, yes android does have more apps than windows and I do believe that deadwrong was being biased. But so were you...

The GSIII and HTC One series has good/great battery life and are both lag free. I have missed around with the HTC One S and noticed no lag. The GSII may have a little bit of lag, but that is not a newer phone. Also compared to the Iphone 4S, Android phones have great battery life nowadays. He is on T-Mobile so LTE battery drain is not an issue.

And yes I prefer Android and am biased towards Android because of my preference, but I would not just lie and say that IOS and Windows is miles behind Android. The threadstarter wanted to know if Android was good enough to switch back to from his previous bad experience. I gave him sound advice. If he was asking about whether Windows was good to switch back to from a previous version, I would have said the same thing. He did not ask which OS is the best, he wanted to know whether Android has improved or not.

Its tough being a windows phone advocate. Running up in threads where niccas is asking for Android phone recommendations and preaching. [pic] Gotta spread the word somehow I guess [pic]

In any case, if you want the smoothest most responsive Android phones, you want a S3 or a OneX variant.

Period. But those will cost just about the same as the new iPhone on a contract. So unless you can get them on contract, the best Android phones will cost you the same as the best iPhone.

hey OP, deawrong is a big windows phone fan, sivraj loves nokia, and everyone knows Im android.

if you want to see the latest of what android has to offer, check out videos of the galaxy nexus compared to previous phones, do a search of android 4.0 vs android 2.3, or android 4.0 vs ios.

I always go for android and I do own an ipad 2. android is more user friendly and allows more freedom. it's the closest to a desktop os than any other mobile os Ive used so far. hope that helps
