Sprint has unleashed their beast this evening, announcing the HTC EVO 4G LTE. It's an Ice Cream Sandwich device, much resembling the HTC One X, with a few welcome changes -- including micro SDcard and Google Wallet support. The specs are no slouch, with a dual-core Snapdragon S4, a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 screen, a hefty 2,000 mAh battery, and of course LTE support. Of course, all the features we expect from an HTC One series device are present as well, including the advanced camera hardware and software, Beats audio, and the all-new Sense 4.0.

All-in-all, we have a phone very much like the HTC One X, with a slightly different (yet still stylish) look, with a few very important things to differentiate it -- the kickstand, a microSD card slot, Google Wallet, and a dedicated camera button. It looks like Sprint has a real winner on their hands here, and a very worthy successor to the EVO 4G name. Hit the break for the Sprint press release.

I'm guessing it has to do with pricepoint or maybe they know something we don't, I'm not really worried about LTE yet either since I'm pretty sure michigan isn't going to have it like we didn't have Wimax so

1: 4g or LTE isn't available in ny yet
2:EVO 4g battery was a 1500 and it would always die or just shut off.for this battery to only be 2g let's me down.Otherwise the phone looks like a definite cop.Never had a galaxy and know the sg3 is on the way so I'm not sure yet.Got my discount coming in July.

im sure the LCD2 screen, processor, and ICS will make it less of a battery hog right?
Thin and secksy as !! tho! HTC coming out with some heat!!
I just dont get why the batteries are so weak

Evo = 2000
X = 1800
S = 1600

should start from 2000 and go up from there since its 2012 [pic]

they finally did it right! smart move with the dual core instead of the quad core to go along with the 2000 mah battery. that krait processor is a beast. Im not a fan of lcd but at least it's of the highest quality. the only other issue is that it still has hard buttons, but everything else is perfect. I still wanna see it side by side with the gnex but for now I gotta give them an A- on this

Oh wow. Folks are sleep on the battery here. I think this makes it the largest capacity battery of an LTE device outside of the Maxx. And this is a Krait dual core which absolutely sips power, without sacrificing performance. This phone had better battery life than the galaxy nexus with the Tegra 3 quad core and a 1800 mAh battery. This one is a Krait 2 core that has better performance, but less battery drain, with a 2k mAh.

We gotta wait on Anandtech, but the battery life on this is going to be better than the S2 and Galaxy Nexus easily unless something is truly !!ed up.

It won't match the Razr Maxx, but nothing on the market does.

The galaxy note also have better battery life and has lte. This phone is going to contend with gs3....hence a processor that is more powerful than the tegra 3. That is why people mad about the battery life because Samsung already said they going for all day battery life on gs3.

They need to be smart and keep WiMax 4G radio in there too along with the LTE.

but won't matter if they roll out the upgraded 3G, EVDO REV-B which is supposed to be 3-10mbs down

agreed. even though there have been some claims that the dualcore krait processor is better performing than the quadcore processor in the international version of this phone, i believe the quadcore provides better battery life since it claims to have a hidden 5th core that enables to lower battery usage.
