got mine yestreday. maybe i got a bad battery but mine is terrible. went to sleep with it at 100% woke up and it was at 93% . made sure to close apps and clear ram. i also only had about 4-5 hours of usage out the box too.

everything else i absolutely love but damn this battery life is disappointing.

just switched from iphone so im not used to bad battery life.

Ifyou don't use s-voice disable it, and turn power saving on overnight. I drain bout 3-5 doing these things overnight(8 hours)

ya its either a bad batt or you have hella !! running that shouldnt be. i charge mine at night before i go to sleep. i take it off the charger at 100% and when i wake up 7-8 hours later its still at 100% pretty much most of the time. go through everything to make sure you have nothing running in the background that shouldnt be

and also have any of yall had any lag swiping between screens from ur homepage? i installed a app and it made my !! a lil laggy, so i uninstalled it and did a factory reset. now its still a lil laggy between screens, but only the initial swipe after i turn it on from sleep

Yeah I get that initial lag when I use widgets. You could have the same issue if you're using widgets.

another battery saving tip i noticed is to turn off nfc.

Seems like it's hit or miss with the battery life on these phones.

Yea just depends on how you use the phone. there's a few extended batteries out there if you dont mind a bulkier phone.

my battery life sucks....i mean compared to what everyone else is getting. i got 8 hours out of mine before it died yesterday with moderate to heavy usage (i was doing this on purpose to see how long it lasted). i ended up getting 3 hours of screen time which i guess is good...but i expected better from a battery that big...

i might get an extended or try getting a new battery to see if its the battery or what. tmobile version btw....

Yeah, I get about the same as you. It sucks. I mean, right now I can make it home without changing batteries, but I carry one on me just in case.

you have the tmo version? I've noticed a lot of people experiencing "bad" battery have the tmo version...

I've disabled all the bull!! apps that come preloaded, turned motion off, I've done pretty much everything except power save mode (cause I don't believe I should have to do that !!..i didn't buy a dual core phone with super amoled display to only run it on one core with my screen brightness at 0%). I didn't do it for my g1, my g2 and I shouldn't have to do so for the s3...

If connected properly, in the upper right hand corner there will be a new little icon with a monitor and some arrows. Touch this and it will allow you to select a playback device. 5) Now the picture should show up in a maximized screen in WMP. Sometimes it takes a good 10-20 seconds. Videos take much longer, but they work and what I got was the first frame, followed by a good 20 seconds of a "Processing" notification on the Galaxy S3. When I browsed from WMP to my phone videos, it buffered for a very long time, so this "processing" notification is the buffering taking place. I don't know why DLNA needs such a long time to buffer over a home Wifi network.6) Whenever you change folders you have to click the DLNA icon again and re-select your playback device. Not sure why this is, seems like a bug...Unfortunately I did a little research and there is no way to physically copy files to your computer through DLNA, you'll have to use other methods.Make sure you turn this stuff off when you connect to public Wifi .-sluzbenik
44.When viewing videos using the stock video player, you can lock the touchscreen by pressing the power button so that the video does not get interrupted by inadvertent touches. 47.Haven't noticed this being addressed but regarding S-Beam it appears that both phones are required to utilize the same app that is involved with the file being transferred. For example, I use "quickpic" as the default image viewer and when I used s-beam to test a pic transfer, the phones connected however my buddy's phone went to the play store and more specifically went to the "quickpic" downlad page. Obviously my buddy's phone required him to dl the app in order to finish the transfer. I then opened the same file via "gallery" and reinitiated the transfer. This time the phones connected and transferred the file without a hitch. -augustorm
48. lock screen shortcuts can be edited on the swipe lock screen go to settings/security/lock screen options/shortcuts click the word shortcuts and not the toggle it will bring up the 4 shortcuts and your allowed to change which app is accessed or what order there displayed in -ironlood

Nope I have the Sprint version. I'm thinking about taking it in to Best Buy and have them look at it.

When I'm on the phone with my headset, i turn off the display, but it always turns back on. I'm not sure if that's normal for the S3, but my Photon 4G never did that.

Also is anybody else noticing that you can't save your apps on your sd card there's no option for that if anybody knows a way spread the word

Does anyone have issues with the screen turning on when you're using the phone with a headset? When i'm on the phone, the screen will randomly turn on. I'll hit the power button to turn it off, and it'll turn it self on again, a couple mins later. Is there something I can do to stop this?

I just got 19 1/2 hours out of my battery yesterday (still had 35% when I charged it) after using two hours of pandora at work, 300+ text messages, two hours of streaming video, 45 minutes on flipboard and some browsing on my sports app.
