Motorola's "Unlock My Device" website up and running

After promising for more than a year to provide a solution for those with Motorola devices that want to unlock the bootloader, Motorola has flicked the switch on its "Unlock My Device" website. Unlocking your device will require you to have the Android SDK and Motorola's Drivers and much of the process is simply following the step-by-step instructions on the website, which you can find by clicking on the sourcelink.


Motorola's new web site will help you unlock the bootloader on certain models

Currently, there are two phones and two tablets that Motorola will let you unlock using the web site. The phones are the Motorola PHOTON Q 4G LTE and the Motorola RAZR Developer edition. The tablets include the Motorola XOOM for Verizon and the Wi-Fi version of the tablet. We should also point out the many warnings that are found on the site including the one that says that unlocking the bootloader could cause permanent damage to your device.

Motorola will probably be adding some more devices to the four currently on the list and we will keep an eye open for such an announcement.
