I know plenty of people with Android phones. I do not know anybody who has ever gotten malware on their Android phones. Same people have Windows PCs and have gotten malware/viruses before. So I would[..]ume they surf about the same on their phone as they do on their home computers. Why aren't they getting malware on their phones then?

The whole Android malware issue has been blown out of proportion. Very few people get it. I have never gotten malware and I never have used anti-malware or anti-virus software on any of my Android devices.

I fully believe that some people think that apps with ads in the notification bar are malware. They are not. They are apps with ads. Once uninstalling the app, the ads go away.

Its not desperate. They're trying to convert people who are frustrated with Android and those people do exist. Its not many but if they aren't happy then they might as well try and get them to WP8.

It would have been desperate if they went directly at the Android core market.
