At this point, after the Maps fiasco, and all the case issues, you could almost make the argument that people are just picking on the iPhone 5 out of spite; it sometimes feels that way, at least, but the fact is this is a hugely high-profile smartphone launch, and Apple should have expected its latest product being put under the magnifying glass. The latest problem to come to light affects the phone’s on-screen keyboard, displaying some odd video corruption when in use.

As you can see in the video below, the problem manifests itself as a series of horizontal lines, flashing with varying levels of brightness in an effect that’s reminding some of analog display static. The regular spacing of the bright spots has us thinking that this is a software issue, where either the wrong spot in RAM’s being accessed or unintentionally written to.

Reportedly, this anomaly only occurs during certain uses of the keyboard, specifically when you’re entering-in passwords for your Apple account. It doesn’t seem to impact functionality any, but just looks a bit ugly and speaks to a lapse in quality control. Look for Apple to tackle this bug in a forthcoming iOS update.

It's a machine. Of course the !! is gonna have glitches. As long as it serves its purpose for the most part it's not that big of a deal.

I want the 5 but I'm waiting until they work out the bugs. I have a feeling there will be an update really soon.

The reason people are complaining about scratches and stuff like this is the resale value. its as if Apple is sending people NEW refurbished phones.

Something mass produced has defects? [pic]

If it's a widespread problem, then it's a problem. A thousand out of 8 million is not that really big of a percentage. Time will time though.

[pic]

EDIT: Just read the entire article. Apparently it's a software bug. [pic]

I didn't realize so many idiots on this site bought 2nd rate phones with 2nd rate operating systems...iOS is over....get over it...

apple took all your choice away...they tell you what you CAN do with your phone...they tell you whats important...

they make you need a case since if you drop it it breaks or hold it wrong it wont make calls...

now they make you need adapters and cables to make your existing stuff work and they made it so you cant use generics....all they do is !! their customer base, but you line up like the !!tards you all are to feed the machine...

its like madden...why are they going to make a vastly improved and innovative product if they know you're gonna buy anything they put out...
