When your screen is bigger and is running more processes of course it will be a bit slower.

Widgets, etc all of that stuff matters. Imagine if the Android software was simple and bland like the iPhone's. Of course things would run faster but Android software is similar to a desktop computer.

The GSIII is quad-core clocked at 1.4 GHz with Samsung's flagship Exynos processor.

The iPhone 5 is dual-core, clocked at about 1 Ghz with Apple's A-6 processor.

Both have 1 gig of memory.

Both use ARM based chipsets, yet the GSIII has not only more processors on board, but run at a higher speed, yet is slower.

Screen size or resolution shouldn't be a factor in this case. If they had similar specs, then yes, I'd agree.

Also, if you strip away all of the widgets and customization features from an android phone, then what separates it from an iPhone at that point?

In a real world setting today, an Android phone is slower than the iPhone 5. Out of the box.

But the screen does play a part. It's just like video games. Trying to run GTA IV at 1080p uses more than it would when it's running at some subpar resolution or even 720p or 1080i.

It's not the screen size, but the actual resolution. The GSIII is native 720p, the iPhone 5 has a funky resolution that is slightly under 720p, but shares the same aspect ratio of 16:9.

720p resolution should scream with the specs of the GSIII. The problem with Android today is that the software isn't optimized to take full advantage of the hardware. This may be because Google has to make sure their OS works with all ARM processors. Apple doesn't have that problem.

If Google poured all of their resources into making sure their OS took advantage of a quad core chip, then it would blow the iPhone 5 out of the water. This video is really making a mockery of the matter.

There you go.

If Jelly bean was exclusive to just one phone then it could take an advantage of the hardware but since it is being used on many devices with different specs it wouldn't be able to.

With the iO6 being designed for the 5 it is able to do that. [pic]

there's no transparancy with this review. like painkiller said the widgets are synced and running. if you look at the notification bar it looks like there are a couple of notifications which would indicate that those apps are running in the background. and does anybody know if the wall paper is a live background or not?

also the browser tests are never accurate... you have 2 devices competing for the same wifi. maybe if he showed the router being really close to the phones

and how come the apps dont go full screen on the iphone5?.... they really came with a subpar release this time.

This is a real world test; ie how people will most likely use their phones. If you are a power user, then yes you can scream foul all you want.

In how most people people use their Android devices today, the iPhone 5 beats it. That's what the video is about.

Actually no. You can't make a comparison and only test it one time. You suppose to have more than one samples especially in an uncontrolled environment.

Obviously you're not familiar with these kinds of reviews. There are benchmark comparisons, which the iPhone 5 has come out on top, and just real world tests for casual users.

Just because he did one reviews doesn't, change the fact that he isn't claiming one is better than the other. He's just showing what the phones do.

Stop being an idiot for one minute.

obviously you're misunderstanding what im saying. whether it's a casual review or not their should be transparancy so that people get accurate info. and what do benchmarks have to do with what Im talking about [pic] I wasnt talking about how one is better than the other. next time why dont you 'Stop being an idiot for one minute' and read
