How to restore a Locked Ipad?

So my girl found this LOCKED Ipad, It doesn't charge and when you plug it into computer it doesn't come up on itunes so I can't do a restore or recovery.

My boy says It wont charge or show up on itunes until you unlock it, its an app you can buy.

Does anyone know of any way to get around this.

You're going to have to put it in DFU mode to restore it I think.

it should charge either way, but as for restoring it all you have to do is dfu

I tried dfu mode, but because it doesn't sync up with itunes I can't push the restore button when the itunes log comes on the screen.

DFU didn't work for you? You did this step by step?

Plug the iPad in, hold home and power buttons for 10 seconds, until the iPad screen goes black.

After you've done that, release the power button but keep holding the home button.

You should hear a beep letting you know you're iPad is plugged in. Click restore in iTunes...you should be good to go!

Yes I did it step by step...I doesn't show up on itunes so I can't click restore
