Googorola Strikes Back & Sues Apple

We hope you didn't think that Motorola would f!ght a purely defensive patent war against Apple after Google's acquisition closed. Just days before a final ruling on its initial complaints, the RAZR maker has filed another dispute with the International Trade Commission that accuses Apple of violating patents through some iOS devices and Macs. Exact details of the dispute are under wraps for now; Motorola, as you'd imagine, only contends that it has no choice after Apple's "unwillingness to work out a license." While Apple hasn't said anything about the subject, we already know how much it disagrees with Motorola's previous licensing strategy -- it's unlikely Apple will just roll over, no matter what's at stake.

Between all this stuff Moto has in terms of non FRAND patents that are infringed by Apple on their desktop and mobile devices, Googles own patents on stuff like the notification shades, and Samsungs patents that are infringed by Apple, cross licensing is definitely just a matter of time. Apple may try and see if they can ride it out, but its looking a whole lot like they will end up crushed under the weight of the creator of the cellphone (motorola) and companies that were patenting !! before they were even in that industry like Moto and Samsung.

They are just really outgunned.

lollol? why : s .. i swear you people are weird. I always bought blackberries. But im thinking of the new iphone maybe. well see. But why would u want the iphone to be banned. Thats messed up. All these great phones to chose from, you dont have to buy the iphone.

Apple is gonna be !!ed up financially.. Yes they make mad money BUT you add in all these court fees, possible fines, possible settlement fees, PLUS the operation of their stores, innovative development, all etc etc..They really will be hurtin...

Read into the ongoing drama and it's not so much the iPhone itself which is a respectably functional device, but the !!'ish nature of Apple trying to ban competition with BS patent claims and them trying to do the exact-same-thing to Samsung who leads the pack of Android manufactures that as a collective whole outsells iPhones.

The only industry where everyone has to work together so they all get that paper. Problem is Mac stands alone and everyone else stands together if Mac falls they others will never let anyone else in the game. Amoral mother!!ers.

[pic] I agree with competition, so why have the iPhone blocked? only cause Apple is a douchebag company. More than that. They are really, really horrible. They are an example of the worst kind of American company. Companies like Motorola, Sprint and Google are examples of great American companies.

This is what Apple wanted. If Motorola wins some of these patent arguments, Apple is going to have no choice but to agree to real cross licensing. Not some ridiculous price of $30 per device. I am just glad that Google has decided to finally defend Android. When those notification patents get granted, Apple is in serious trouble. They wanted to go against all of the Android manufacturers, well good luck with that.

If the next Iphone were to be banned, Apple fans would be mad as heck. Yet these same hypocritical fans say !! when phones like the Galaxy Nexus get temporarily banned. I rather no phone get banned, but all out patent war is the only thing that will put Apple back in their place and get them to focus on improving their phone and not suing the competition over patents involving technology they did not even create.
