Android stolen..can I find it without having an app installed?
topic by BlueGray - 03-10-2011, 07:33 PM

Phone was stolen and I didn't have that FindMyDroid app installed on it. Is there any way I can possibly still be able to track it down?

FindMyDroid? Is that better than Lookout? That's what I use, and I only found out about it from that Droid/Verizon commercial.

I dunno bro, I think you're outta luck.

nope. but go through your service provider, given that you bought the phone from them. maybe they will be able to blacklist the imei number on that phone.

if you have a sprint phone, theres a app that installs itself on your phone from the market on the internet and you could track it down or remote wipe it so they don't keep any info on it...

Look into an app called plan b. I think that's the one that does what you're saying.

I saw a way to do that on Sense 2.0, but how do you do it on the old Sense?

have no idea. my inspire has the new sense 2.0
i never own an android before that. and i doubt that the old sense has it since this feature is in beta. (it says so when i log in to the website to use the feature) so im a$suming theyre still working on it.
besides that, so far it has worked perfectly. only thing that sucks about it is, for you to be able to remotely lock your phone, and wipe it clean let alone find it, you have to set your phone to automatically have htc sync on all time (kills your battery)....
i wish it would just work through the carrier so that it can bypass all that #### and i can save my battery. (hopefully thats what theyre doing since its in beta)
