Plot Summary: Set in America in the years following World War II, a charismatic intellectual (Philip Seymour Hoffman) launches a faith-based organization and taps a young drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) as his right-hand man. Brilliant. Seriously, the director is about as close to Kubrick as you're going to get and the acting is the best of this year. Its also pretty funny at times, which i didn't expect. A must see.

But overall, a good (not great) film.


Definitely worth seeing.
