| So I grabbed this out of the jukebox from itsbx the other day and watched it finally with my girl. I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. Excellent actors/actresses; great plot and directing. There's a lot of narrating but I actually enjoy narration in some movies, i.e. Shawshank Redemption. The little girl who plays Susie seems like she's on a path to becoming a star. First, Atonement and now this...I can't wait to see her in more films, she's quite good for being so young. Marky Mark does a decent job of acting as well and Rachel Weisz delivers a good performance as usual, but the key actor in all of this is Stanley Tucci, playing the almost neurotic neighbor. The movie is "dark and scary" because of how calm he is in character. It makes him the "perfect villain", as my girl put it. I agree that his calmness and appearance just makes you feel uneasy. All in all it's a drama, suspenseful, slight romantic movie. Overall though I thought this movie was a good film, I'd drop a dub on it for me and my girl to see it for sure. | Yeah copped it from Jukebox as well and thought it was a good movie. If I had one complaint with the movie it's just the end or how it ended I should say. | |

| This movie blows! If any other director who isn't a household name directed it than it wouldn't be praised at all! Read the book then see this or don't. | |
