cheaper gas just doesnt burn as well. It will empy sooner and has the possibility to not work. But for the most part I dont see a problem.

^Nice avy. I wish I could do Flares like dat. :(

I've heard same thing, "cheaper gas is cheaper quality."
-I haven't seen any of them cheap places ya'll talking about, here there is PowerFuel and RaceTrac for 'cheap' gas.

Ain't Shell suppose to be like the cleanest/best?
...I forgot where I heard that.

Shell has stuff that helps keep your injectors clean. In reality premium is the best gas for any car. But I mean #### these days ####ty gas can ride if it lets you pay rent and eat.

I advise all of yall to get your fuel system cleaned at least every 18 months. I haven't had many problems with my car but I got the fuel system cleaned and it runs a whole lot smoother. It costs around a $130 depending on where you go. I often use those fuel injector cleaners in the bottle but they were still pumping alot of shyt out of my fuel system. I got mine done at a muffler shop but I think most of those oil change places do it to.

well there is cheap gas(which burns faster) and gas stations that put water in their gas to stretch it(which can #### up your car) Both are bad but only one is bad for your car..the other is bad for your pocket...

But they may not know that all the gas, brand name and generic, comes from the same refineries. Brand names do use different additives, but it doesn't make them better for your car.

In 1996, the Federal Trade Commission forced Amoco, which denied any wrongdoing, to stop claiming in its ads that it was better than other brands without scientific evidence to back it up.

"It's a myth that brand-name gas is better than a no-name gas," said mechanic Dave Bowman, co-host of "Two Guys Garage" on cable TV's Speed channel.

"It doesn't make any difference whether you're buying a branded product or a no-name product," he said.

"The only difference is price."

The NASCAR drivers agree about that, too. "It's a myth, you don't need the high-octane gasoline, you don't need the, the name-brand stuff," said driver Jimmie Johnson.

Some of the fans have figured that out.

One man summed it up nicely for us. "The manufacturers and the gasoline dealers, they all want you to buy that expensive stuff. It all runs on the same stuff. Gas is gas."

In reality, the higher octane gas you put in your car the smoother and the better it will run. In a normal, daily driven car though, you don't have to put the best(93 by me) in.

the cheaper gasoline (which has a lower octane) actually has rougher explosions, doesnt give you any horsepower or anything it just means it is rougher on your engine. put that cheap gas long enough and you will hear a "knock" in your engine. start putting higher octane gasoline in your engine and the knock can go away. why do you think some sport cars require premium gasoline for their warranty? oh and to clean your injectors simply pour in one of those bottle of rubbing alcohol into a full tank of gas, it gets rid of any water in your tank and cleans your injectors. no need to buy those "injector cleaners", just do that every 10,000 miles or whenever, it shouldnt hurt an engine. plus there is a thing called a fuel filter which gets most of the #### that can be bad for the injectors. i've tried all of the things that iv'e said and they work for my vehicles.

if you disagree or got other questions let me know

cuz of the compression ration of the engine. has nothin to do with the type of car. higher octane iz not "better" in any way. its based on tha compression of tha engine. newer cars can adjust to different octanes. put low octane in a newer car and it will NOT knock.

In gasoline that's heavy on the ethanol, you'll have to flush your fuel railings regularly and use a product called ISO-HEET.

I only put 93 Octane in my car.
