A BMW test driver was k!lled in an accident while driving a 3-Series hybrid prototype

The crash took place on September 21 on the A92 in the proximity of the carmaker’s Dingolfing factory. The driver was involved in a series of high-speed test for the hybrid 3er, with the car passing some trucks at a high rate of speed. One of the trucks in front of the car entered the latter’s lane, with the driver quickly swinging the car to the right in order to try and avoid the crash.

Unfortunately, the BMW went into the rear of the truck’s trailer. The impact was extremely violent and the driver was instantly k!lled - he was the only one in the car, so at least there are no other casualties. The authorities closed the A92 for a few hours and are now studying the evidence in order to complete the investigation.

all of that and the rims and axle seems to be still in place. the center cap is the only thing that flew off from that tire im am shocked.

you can tell he tried to avoid it and slide off the right but it was too late damn

why are these "test" runs done on open roads?

Sounds like the truck driver was trollin, but maybe I'm reading that wrong.

So basically BMW is paying drivers to speed on open roads in concept cars? Not looking good for them.

i think what bmw is doing is prbly lettting a bunch of people drive them around in real areas and go wild with them. and bring them back and do readings. make a few give them out come back end of the day boom results
