And would it be better to run that amp to 2 Alpine Type-R 10's at 1500 watts each or 1 Alpine Type-R 12 at 1500 watts?

Depends on what kinda car you puttin it in and what kinda sound you goin for. IF you gonna spend the extra cash on the type-r speakers, you might as well go all out on the amp too. look for some on ebay, usually can find some good deals on rockford and other good brands

yeah, orion and precision power are both good or you could get two mono amps to push each speaker

i think i've already told you this but never go by the max rating, your not supposed to put 1500w to a 1500w max sub, with 2 10's your looking at a recommended 1000w and for the 12 your looking at about 500w. you need to understand that or else your going to fu*k sh*t up

buy a kicker 800.2 amp, it will give you about 950rms, if your subs can handle that, kicker and jl, just two brands that what they so they put out, they do put out and some more. I have a 600.4 kicker that came certified at 712watts rms.

So it wouldn't matter if I kept the 2 10's or got the 1 12?

the 2 10's will be louder jsut because they're have more surface area to move air. but like i said what you need is a good 1000w amp and thats all

I prefer two speakers to one just because it definitely sounds better!

2 subs will always be louder than 1 sub of the same model in almost all applications, jsut because they is more surface area to move air like i said in my last post. of course if you experiment with different boxes and what not 1 sub could be louder than 2. but for an example, 2 10" type r's in a spec recommended sealed enclosure will be louder than 1 12" type r in a spec recommended sealed enclosure

Do you recommend that Kenwood 1000 watt amp with the built-in fan then and would I need a new wiring kit because the amp I have now is only 760 watts and I had a 4 gauge Rockford kit for that

4 g is perfect for now, if you want to upgrade you can but the 4g wont really hurt anything. the kenwood should work but i'd go for the cheaper one, and the hifonics is porbably a lil cheaper on ebay
