THE WOLVERINE - To Be Set After ALL X-MEN Films

Previously believed to be a prequel to the X-Men trilogy, the director of The Wolverine, James Mangold himself has confirmed that the newest X-Men spin-off film actually takes place AFTER all of the previous films! Within the pages of the latest Empire Magazine, director James Mangold has confirmed that his upcoming film -- The Wolverine -- takes place after all of the previous X-Men films, including The Last Stand. As we saw in the final film, Logan was forced to murk Jean Grey because she could not control the Phoenix's power, Professor Xavier and Scott Summers were believed to be deceased, and the team had disbanded. With rumors of some of the original cast returning for X-Men: Days of Future Past, it remains to be seen whether or not this film will tie-in to that storyline. Below are comments from James Mangold himself on the timeline placement.



"Where this film sits in the universe of the films is after them all. Jean Grey is gone, most of the X-Men are disbanded or gone, so there’s a tremendous sense of isolation for him."

"That’s something that for me was very important, that I land in a very specific place in his timeline.I wanted to be able to tell the story without the burden of handing it off to a film that already exists and having to conform to it. The ideas of immortality reign very heavily in this story and the burden of immortality weighs heavily on Logan. For me that’s such an interesting part of Logan’s character that is nearly impossible to explore if you have a kind of league or team movie."

I wish they would just stop. Jackman is horrible as him and they keep doing horrible stories.

Stick to the comics or the 90s cartoon. THey have a wealth of source material, yet continually get it wrong.

They keep jumping all over the place. I still got hope for this and Days of Future Past though

Thought I was the only one who thought this. If I'm not mistaken there's been two prequels (Orgins:Wolverine and First Class) and three other movies. I can barely keep track in my head where one begins and the other ends.

First Class was supposed to Magento's Origin movie I believe tho..
I thought they announced them as Wolverine n Magneto origin movies??

Folks you should ANTICIPATE this movie. If you EVER kept up with the comics or cartoon, there is also an XMEN future storylines that take place in the XMEN world. Wolverine was always there because of his power. Some of the story was post apocalyptic, and other times it woudl just be wolverine in his dark world.....................

This is another damn story then, this aint Frank Miller's !!. This is a scene or two you might recognize from the Frank Miller stories. Some other !!. !! dis !!.

I like the x-men more than any other comics(except the walking dead) so I still have high hopes for this !!. For me, the main thing that drags this movie down is Wolverines inaccurate portrayal. I think somebody else can play him better and fit his image more. I was hoping First Class was the beginnings of a reboot to the franchise, them other Xmen movies was just OK...the last one was just terrible. They need a new cast. The girl that played Jean is ugly, Halle Berry is too !!in expensive and demanding and I like James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender better as Prof X and ol Magnus. James Marsden was cool as Cyclops IMO.

I guess I'm the only one fine with Jackman as Wolverine.[pic] That !! fits as far as major movies go. The writing could be better for some of these movies but that's a different aspect. Also, Cylops sucks.

hugh jackman is wolverine and RDJ is Ironman...deal with it... :)
