| What The fu*k - If You've Seen "IT" Come In Here |
| By bassy - 08-21-2008, 09:21 PM - Boxden > The TV and Movie Spot So I just move back into my apartment & haven't unpacked anything yet. Somebody who stayed here over the summer left a copy of the movie "IT" here. I've seen the movie before & like most people it scared the !! out of me when I was younger. Now it mostly gives me a few nostalgic moments & alot of laughs. Anyways, I'm sitting here watching it & one of my roomates says that in the book all of the boys in the movie !! the one girl. He swears that each boy takes a turn at the girl & !!s her. So I IM one of my friends and he says it's true & they did run a train on the girl (He didn't use those exact words). Anybody else heard this? And if it's true, I realize I'm mad late on this but I never read the book. |

| lol Thanks for the answer. I actually did try and google it first but couldn't find what I was looking for, maybe I wasn't phrasing it correctly. Edit: Wikipedia helped alot though. It describes totally different than what I had running through my head. I might have to pick up this book at some point. Last edited by bassy; 08-21-2008 at 09:39 PM.. | |

| In the book she didn't just have se# with them for pleasure... It made sense in the context... the kids had a bond that was so strong that it had just defeated It (with help from the Turtle - trust me, it makes sense in the book). After they had defeated it, they were so lost in the sewers (literally miles under the ground... not just down one pipe like in the movie), Beverly knew of only one way to bring them all together and help use their power as a group to find the way out... and that was to have se#, something none of them were familiar with (or even completely knew about). Trust me, in the book, it might be kind of gross, but it still makes sense. Also, anybody who sees the movie and doesn't read the book "IT" is doing themselves a grave injustice. The movie is a three hour "clean version" early 90s TV-movie schlock fest with a great performance by Tim Curry. The novel is about childhood memories, child abuse, alcoholism, fears and how they affect you as you mature, family, and most importantly lost friendship. It's so well-detailed that you actually feel like you live in Derry, Maine and that you know these peoples. And despite what many might think, IT isn't just Pennywise the Clown, IT is anything that you might be afraid of (and he doesn't just discriminate against children) - something that was just touched upon in the movie. What this novel truly deserves, is an in-depth, Rated R remake Lord of the Rings style (three movies, three chapters) where it can include all the horrific details and town history interludes of the novel. IT would be epic. Definitely Stephen King's crowning achievement, alongside The Stand and The Gunslinger books. | |
