All I have to say about Samuel L is that screaming and overreacting your lines doesn't make you a good actor, I bet you don't even know he was in Goodfellas because the cast was too great to even care about him. [pic]

He is right... There is not stand out performance in the movie. Even tho Sam's role was the best. It would be nothing without the script. Thats the reason why I love the movie, As an ensemble and the direction.

Yo, I love ur Hunter Avy too. Did u see Buy the ticket, Take the Ride?

Spike Lee did deserve an Oscar. It was close for Best Original Screenplay for DTRT. I think Dead Poets Society's script was okay, but not as Original as DTRT.

Can't find and don't think I will find a legit argument for these being wrong especially the first one. (Nicholson's best movie.)

As for '71-The French Connection > Clockwork Orange
A Clockwork Orange losing isn't even arguable it was a mistake [pic], with the exception of 72,74,76 (Godfather I & II, Taxi Driver.) It was the best movie of the 70's and could win every year that decade.

True these people love to hype Samuel L for his acting [pic] Him along with Travolta, and Thurman are hollywood action guys. Then there is the king Bruce Willis who almost ruins the movie by playing the same Die Hard guy like every other movie. :thumbsdow

I never seen it though, im a fan of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

He might not of known that because he was a tiny part in Goodfellas, but I rememer Stacks. You are just flat out wrong, the acting performances were outstanding in Pulp Fiction. Although I agree "without Tarantino's direction and writing the movie wouldn't be shiit", but that is stupidly pointing out the obvious. That's like saying, that pizza wouldn't have been shiit without the cheese and sauce, does that mean the crust and toppings were bad?

And I would say Keitel and Walken were "standout" performances, as well as Samuel L.

pulp fiction was a great movie because each actor fed off each other.. it wasn't made for one person, tarrantino's movies never work like that, and with that being said each did a great job in there roles... u can't say anyone had a standout performance because with the exception of travolta each person is in the movie for maybe 20 minutes at most..

yepp I agree with this

smokeweed.. as for sam's acting. all I'm going to say is pulp fiction, jackie brown, Black snake moan & unbreakable. I thoroughly enjoyed his performances in all those movies. However, like I said before, the roles he picks water down his acting resume tremendously. But to say he isn't a good actor... I disagree.

and of course I knew he was in goodfellas. I vividly remember him getting offed. Even if I didn't remember him, it wasn't like he played a significant role in the movie anyway.

I've seen Jackie Brown horrible movie, the rest of those movies are trash. Pulp Fiction is a classic but the acting isn't there it was too over the top and exaggerated especially John McClane pretending to be a boxer. [pic]

Yeah ur right. That film did give the world a glimpse on Jacks range as an actor. I love how the story is in that movie.

The reason why I say an argument over The French Connection. I never seen it, I dont wanna give unfair judgement. Even tho Clockwork is a !!in mind !!. Kubrick pushed the envelope further than any film I ever seen. Besides faces of [rip]. Most peoples tastes cant stomache watchin some scenes.

Any fan of that movie should hear the tales from Hunter himself. He was a great man and the most original writer in the half century. Mark Twain of his time.

i agree with that, but after watch'n LMS again i saw how he won because of his significanct role and the things he told ol girl. BUT EDDIE SHOULD HAVE WON JIMMY GOT SOULD

I Also agree with Spike not getting a nomination, he's movies are all visually dif and enticing although i laugh at those scenes when the main character is sitting there staring in blank space think'n about everything while "walking." I liked how Chris Rock made fun of those scenes in CB4

My moms always talks about that. She said it didnt win due to the fact that a kid was k!lled on one of Spielberg's sets and Hollywood was protesting and what not...
