BOURNE need to drop 2 weeks after that would give people another movie to see in that span.
Well, the avengers has surpa#sed The Dark Knight as far as tickets sold, so it will have to sell as many tickets as the avengers and then some because it's not in 3D. So, it's very unlikely that TDKR will break the Avengers record.

Yeah exactly... because once TDKR hits theaters a whole lot of movies is not going to make as much. I think ASM has 2 weeks to make most of the money it can before the Batman movie comes out and if it's not as good as expected then expected a big 2nd week drop off in sales.
Smart move by all these action films to hold off until the 2nd week of August.

Box Office Mojo doesn't track number of tickets sold. It tracks revenue. Even with inflation, comparing the two isn't apples to apples.

The Avengers is at 27, and the Dark Knight is at 29.

They divide the gross by the average ticket price. Not even close to accurate. That chart is done for impressions, nothing more...

Well, prove to me the Dark Knight has sold more tickets then. I'm just going off the facts that The Avengers has made 70 million more domestic, and something like 300 million more international. Why is it so hard to believe that The Avengers has sold more tickets?

One-O-One
Cool

DKR is not beating Avengers for the following reasons:

Dark Knight series isn't as "kid-friendly" as Avengers.

Bane isn't as familiar as Joker.

Heath Ledger.

Avengers build-up was unprecedented.

No 3D.

Not saying DKR will be a bad movie, just saying its very uphill battle. You also have to look at how FAST Avengers beat Dark Knight's numbers. Avengers is still in theaters and hasn't even been on DVD or re-released in theaters yet like DK. So DKR would have to be some game-changing film with a slow burn to come close to Avengers success.

Because the cost of a 3-D ticket is so much more. A 3-D ticket here in Portland is $14.50. I still have a ticket stub from The Dark Knight that I paid $10.50 for. [pic]

So? A 3D ticket here is 11.50 and a regular ticket is 8.50. Also, not every ticket sold was a 3D ticket. Opening weekend they had something like 52% in 3D sales. Your kidding youself if you think The Avengers hasn't surpa#sed TDK in ticket sales. Also, Avengers has sold the most tickets on opening weekend out of any movie ever by like 4 million. TDK was the previous holder of that record.

Propel Water
a new bourne movie is retarded considering the first 3 are based off the books and this new movies is just a completely different story, character, actor, writer....
