Let's be clear. Hollywood is also rejecting him. Transformers was his last go 'round, especially after he !!ted on Spielberg and criticized the Indiana Jones movie while he was supposed to be on the hype tour.

So he shoots himself in the foot and gets mad at the person who made the gun ? Makes perfect sense .

Pretty much. There's some truth to Shia's independent leanings, given that he's shown a lot of love to that underground hipster hop that Def Jux and them used to do. I think he directed a video for Cage once he turned into a rapping member of My Chemical Romance -- or one of them dudes.

But you don't do cookie cutter movies like Eagle Eye and Disturbia, and three (!!) Transformers movies just to act like you're this thespian now. Every actor with a heart for art takes on pet projects. Ed Norton and Clooney do it all the time. Lebeouf is neither one of them, but don't act like you wanna be in the art house now after all this self sabotage.

But yeah, Steven Spielberg is one of the architects of the Hollywood we know today. Dude practically invented the blockbuster. And even though we all knew that new Indiana Jones would suck, Shia had one job once rolling stopped: Pretend it doesn't -- at least until after the DVD drops. (Think: Mark Wahlberg finally admitting The Happening sucked years later; Jamie Foxx saying "Held Up" was bad, etc).

The incident with the car accident while filming Transformers, when he !!ed up his hand and halted production was the final nail on Shia. He's a charismatic dude whose performances I enjoy, but his strength as a sarcastic fast talker is easily filled by someone like the kid that played Kosta in Project X.
