Seinfeld live stand-up comedy returns to NYC

NEW YORK — Jerry Seinfeld is bringing back his live stand-up comedy to New York City — the place he says he learned to be funny.

It will be the first time he'll present full live comedy performances in the city since his 1998 Broadway show, "I'm Telling You for the Last Time."

There will be one performance in each of the five boroughs on Thursday nights in October and November.

Seinfeld says: "I was born in Brooklyn, went to school in Queens and started out as a comedian in Manhattan. I feel like New York City taught me how to be funny."

The first performance is at Manhattan's Beacon Theater on Oct. 4.

Each show will feature Colin Quinn. Seinfeld directed him in the Broadway show "Colin Quinn: Long Story Short."

i wanted to see him when he came to caesar's in las vegas but that !! was too damn expensive!

yep, just what I was coming into this thread to say. Jerry's shows are always expensive as !!. I'd love to see this but no way I'm gonna pay that much. And I'm sure it will still sell out regardless of the ticket price.

Save your money. I coughed up 175 when he came to baton rouge(front row) last year. A LOT of his material were old jokes. You're really paying to see him, not to laugh at the act.

agreed... paid about that for row 2 when he was in my city in 2011. As a huge fan of live comedy in general it didn't live up to the hype. I mean, he was funny, we got laughs, but not the type of funny you'd expect from a legend. Expectations didn't ruin the show but we all felt a little let down since everyone was hyping up his show for months.

However I am forever grateful he didn't rip me a new one when i got up to!!in the middle of his set.. awkwardly stopping his flow while he just stared at me for a few seconds. I have a friend who was front row at a Russell Peters show who did the same thing.. lets just say it did not end well for him!
