Ryan Dunn's Estate Being Sued |

| By Joeski Whoaski - 08-10-2012, 09:23 AM - Boxden > The TV and Movie Spot Seems a bit callous to me seeing how these guys were friends. Parents just want a payday. Smh ![]() Ryan Dunn of MTV‘s Jackass was tragically k!lled over a year ago in a car crash as Dunn was traveling at 130 MPH, and later was proven very drunk at the time. The Ryan Dunn crash also claimed the life of his passenger at the time, Zachary Hartwell, and now, Hartwell’s parents are suing Dunn’s estate! Nothing like waiting a year to decide that you want to sue, but that’s exactly what Zachary Hartwell’s parents have decided to do. The Hartwells are now suing the estate of Ryan Dunn, as well as the bar that Dunn was drinking at, claiming that the drunken Jackass star took the life of their son. In the lawsuit, the Hartwells claim that Ryan Dunn was extremely negligent by trying to operate his vehicle when he was clearly intoxicated. Sure, we agree, but we still can’t understand why it took them a year to figure this out. According to TMZ, the Hartwells claim: “they’ve lost the services, guidance, and comfort of their son. And they want Dunn’s estate to cover expenses[..]ociated with Zach’s [rip], including funeral costs.” The parents, who are suing on behalf of their son Zachary’s estate, feel that both Ryan Dunn’s estate and the bar should pay for all of their son’s “pre-impact fright, fear, pain and suffering.” Rumor also has it that they are asking both parties to pay for all of the wages that Zachary would have earned during his life. Wow, that seems like a bit much, no? I mean, we understand that they are hurting, but on the flip side, who forced Zachary Hartwell to get in the car with Ryan Dunn? Clearly, he either knew that Dunn was drunk, or was too drunk himself to care. Ryan Dunn Crash - Estate Sued By Dead Passenger's Parents | Reality TV Magazine |

| i dont know all of the details of that story but if the friend got in the car knowing that dunn was drunk, then he's responsible for his own life at that point. its not like an innocent pedestrian standing on the curb [pic] nonetheless rip | |

Uhh...people drive slow and under control maybe when they're drunk, cuz they don't want to get caught. Sounds to me like Dunn and the other dude were TANKED, at which point trying to be under control so you don't get pulled over gets thrown out the window. Cognizance of your drunkenness, at that level of intoxication, is all but nonexistent.

| the bar can be held liable , because they can step in and call a cab and take the keys away .. If you go in the liquor store and try and buy booze and they see that you're blitzed they aren't supposed to sell you any alcohol , and can be held liable as well . It doesnt matter how long they waited , but it was probably for the best . What do you think they are going to sue right after they lost their son and Dunn's parents lost his ? Of course they waited it was the smart thing to do . | |
