Now, to be perfectly honest, throughout the first half of the movie, I was just liking it. It was good, the acting was amazing, but I wasn't head over heels over it. But, as the movie progressed, and we got to the last 45 minutes, it was NOTHING but a GIGANTIC payoff to everything they've ever set up in this series of films. Just an awesome and truly astounding conclusion to not just the movie, but the entire franchise. Nolan makes all the emotional beats work, "The Bat" is f*cking awesome, Selina Kyle gets to kick all kinds of[..], and that whole ending set piece just had me completely in under its spell.
I'm still sticking with The Dark Knight Rises was the better film, but The Dark Knight is more fun, so it has more replay value to me. I felt like this one took itself even more seriously, which I really, really liked. There were things in The Dark Knight that always made me kind of cringe from the very first time I saw it, where I thought this movie was damn near perfect from start to finish. There were no cheesy lines like "No more dead cops!" or bad acting like on the boat scene.

Also, I saw it a second time yesterday, and it grew on me even more. I also was effected by the end more emotionally yesterday than my first viewing. It will be interesting to see how I feel about it on a third watch.

I also really loved the tone in the beginning. I think this one didn't hook me in as much as the last one to start, but that's because it took more to set it up, and Bane wasn't as fun to watch as The Joker. There was no pencil magic trick type scene. But the NY stock exchange scene was one of my favorites in the entire series, and that came pretty early.

I really had no issue with the way any of the villains died. It was revealed Bane was only as strong as he was because the mask. And the way Talia went out was fine. Getting rid of the b0mb was more important. I really couldn't ask for more from this movie.

I think Ras had the best villain [rip] scene of them all.Ironically, Batman had the best [rip] scene in the entire trilogy I guess that's why Bane's and Talia's were a little lackluster to me.

To say I was blown away by TDKR would be an understatement. This film is an incredible piece of filmmaking by Nolan and Co. and I'm convinced it'll go down as one of the best action trilogies ever. Where do I even begin? TDKR started off slow (but by no means does slow mean 'bad'), but it was perfectly paced. The last 45 minutes was just brilliant.

I don't even know where to start, to be honest. Any words would not do this film justice. It was the perfect closer to this near-flawless trilogy. Missteps include at times sloppy writing, but in all seriousness, that's just me nitpicking. The way Nolan brings the mythology around this "real world" setting is just too impressive.
