He was turning before Rick st@bbed him. How do you think he fully turned 10 seconds after dying? Notice his erratic behavior leading up to that scene, the scene in the barn with him twitching and seeing things.

He was turning before he died just like Jim. Remember Jim? He got "sick" and was turning. My best guess is Shane either started turning at the farm or got zombie blood in him when he cut his hand at the place but either way he was turning before Rick st@bbed him because even after he getting shane and dropped him, shane didn't have enough time to fully die and come back, not in 10 !!ing seconds.

His sick look/actions at the farm prior is all the proof you need. Just re-watch the scene where he cuts the kid loose and the way he is acting and smacking his head and getting flashes.
