I liked it, but thought it was 30 minutes too long. Nothing really new or groundbreaking, but I was checking my watch about 1:30 into it. Way too long but enjoyable none the less

Too long.
Too much time spent on the origin.
The movie, at times, feels aimless.
Overall, I like it... BUT, it's a far cry from... say, Spider-Man 2 in terms of quality and storytelling.

This film is OBVIOUSLY one big feature-length setup to a sequel... So much so, that it's like "why even make this movie, why not just skip to the sequel".

I hate Spiderman 2 for so many reasons but I mean I get it.

My only guess is that the other Spidermans had advanced too far in Parker's age. They'll get more audience appeal with reinventing the high school nerd finding powers and falling in love story that's baked in to his origin.

I agree though, they should've just jumped right in with whatever they have planned for the sequel (finding out about what happened to his Dad and what he was really working on).

The origin story setup and "discovering spiderman" montage wasn't different enough from the other movies to warrant spending the 1st hour on it. It was well done and entertaining but I feel the same way.

Can't wait to see all the moon walking when this movie comes out in the states.

Just hurry and give Marvel back the rights to Spider Man

ffigured it'd be bad. You always know when it's evident they're trying too hard in the marketing for it.
