In an interview that went under the radar, producer Marc Guggenheim has revealed at WonderCon'13 that Nightwing, and his alter ego d!ck Grayson, will be appearing in season 2 of the hit CW crime drama, and they already have him cast...
In an interview with movie news site "Lair Of Slop", producer Marc Guggenheim has revealed that his show Arrow will have a special guest appearance from Bludhaven native, Nightwing, in their next season. However, it's unknown how far into the season they'll introduce him. The people at Lair Of Slop also got the name of who'll portray the character.
That's right, Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire Diaries. In the interview, Guggenheim said "The CW is planning this big actor-switcheroo with their main stars. We're giving someone up for an episode so Ian can come down [to set]. We thought this was a great opportunity to introduce Nightwing as Oliver's going to make plenty of trips to Bludhaven soon". The site also went on to ask Guggenheim whether or not they're doing this as fan-service. "It took us quite a while to convince the powers that be that this is the best idea. We're not doing it as a big easter egg. Just like bringing in The Huntress, d!ck Grayson's addition feels very organic to the story. Oliver will see that there's another vigilante like him out there, and maybe, just maybe, change his view on what he does".
