DDL is the best actor in the game right now IMO. Bale and DiCaprio are catching up though.

I am admitting ignorance when it comes to this man's greatness. For whatever reason, I have seen none of his movies (save the Crucible, which I !!ing hate). I know people rock TWBB as greatness and plan on seeing it soon...my question, though, is where should I start with DDL's filmography? I'd like to start with a couple of his older or lesser-known flicks and then get to Gangs, TWBB, etc.

My Left Foot, A Room w/ A View, My Beautiful Laundrette, The Bounty, In the Name of the Father, The Age of Innocence, The Boxer... not lesser none but you didn't mention Gandi

The Crucible, Nine, and The Ballad of Jack & Rose were his absolute worse movies.

You have to see My Left Foot. Seeing Last of the Mohicans won't hurt either.

As good as Adrien Brody was in The Pianst, I thought DDL got robbed at the Oscars that year when he didn't win it for playing Bill "The Butcher" Cutting in Gangs of New York.

He performance in There Will Be Blood is amazing.

Wow... You're in for quite a revelation. [pic]

I'd go chronological to see the progression:

"My Left Foot"
"In the Name of the Father"
"The Boxer"(his most overlooked/underrated master performance)
"Gangs of New York"
"There Will Be Blood"(one of Greatest Performances ever put on film)


Then if you're still interested check out "The Last of the Mohicans" & "The Age of Innocence".

Oh yeah, "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" is worth an eventual watch as well.
