First Footage from "OBLIVION" starring Tom Cruise
topic by DaOmega_1 - 12-08-2012, 10:51 AM

Tom Cruise is keeping himself busy these days. After taking a hiatus from good movies after the fallout from the height of his Scientology meltdown, he earned the audience's trust back with "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol". This year alone, he's been in two movies. This recalls the year in which he starred in both "War of the Worlds" & "Collateral" (which is, to me, his best performance).

Now, Cruise finds himself in a sci-fi film from the director of "Tron: Legacy". And, based on watching the mexican trailer for this, it looks... like alot of other films in storytelling. Now, that's not always a bad thing. But, I'm not sure this film is gonna wow us with originality. Maybe with spectacle, and acting (it has a great cast), and the list of a$sembled screenwriters (which includes the Oscar winning writer of "The Departed). But, I get a feeling of "been-there-done-that", and that is a feeling I just can't shake from watching this.

The movie (which stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, and Melissa Leo) will open on April 13th, 2013. For now, check out this trailer...

Lol just wait until Cruise finds his groove, he'll be an unstoppable force at the Box office again. His a good actor too, happy his appearing on blockbusters such as Jack Reacher and Oblivion, only in America can a once superstar fall from grace just because their weird... only in America
