The Dark Knight Rises was not a crime film. Bruce Wayne or Batman did not go around town trying to solve a crime. This was a superhero movie through and through. Bane wanted to destroy gotham, and almost did. Not only that, he did it in a way only comic book films can do it. That is, until Bruce Wayne finally decided to get off his old[..] to guess what, be a superhero. Also, when he was put into the pit, he came back from his injuries in a way only a comic book film can also do it. I have no clue why anybody would think that TDKR was a crime film. That just baffles me. I mean, without the forced plot twist at the end, this movie would be on the same level as The Avengers. It would just be another "popcorn flick" so to speak.

Get the !! out of here. And get off of Christopher Nolan's !!.

I wasn't expecting some bull!! superhero movie. I was expecting a movie of the caliber of the first two. This wasn't it, plain and simple. Like I said, the man is a genius director, one of the best to do it. But he !!ed up with this one. The first two movies were amazing. This one had a plot that was drawn out, and a villain who sounded like his voice box was replaced with a 90 year old va-jay-jay that smoked cigarettes for 85 years.

How can anything they say have any sort of credibility anymore? Look at the movies they've given the award to in the past years or the actors they've honored. They're heads are so far up their[..]es it's not even funny.

The Dark Knight was Oscar worthy and so is TDKR. But then again it doesn't involve any of the two groups that runs Hollywood....you can figure out yourselves who I'm referring to.

Hardy was good but he had a mask and voice dubs the whole time, Hathaway MAYBE but she's basically a shoe-in to get nominated in the same category for Les Miserables. Oldman, Caine, Freeman (Oscary type guys) were barely in the movie. If anyone has a shot it'd be Bale, but he's not getting a Best Leading Actor nomination for playing Batman.

I guess I could see Nolan getting love maybe possibly, but who even cares he's already the most famous director in the world now, he doesn't need any !!ing Oscars. Still it shouldn't be his TDKR directing that wins him his Oscar, imo his most poorly directed film. TDK shouldve been though.

On the other hand, they gave LOTR (a far worse trilogy) like a thousand Oscars so who the !! knows.

i still havent watched the last half hour of the movie,but unless some super miraculous !! happens in this last half hour,no way in hell this movie deserves an Oscar...

I agree an oscar would be silly. Coming from someone who was highly dissapointed in the movie as a whole though, the last 30 minutes were pretty damn good. Easily outdoes pretty much the entire rest of the movie.
