Chris Tucker Says No To New “Friday,” Proves He Hates Us All

Tucker signed a $40 Million dollar 2 film contract with New Line Cinema starting with Rush Hour 3 and a future film. I don't know if that film has been done, but if not then it stands to reason Rush Hour 4 will be that final film in that contract.

So he got $25 million + 20% of the gross against his salary on Rush Hour 3.

Looks like he stands to get $15 million + 20% of the gross against his salary(or whatever cut) on Rush Hour 4.

Compare that to what he would get for Last Friday.

I doubt he'd get anything CLOSE to that, and I'd imagine both are going to be filming around the same time so he can't do both.

He's got well publicized IRS problems, I imagine this is going to be a huge help in that situation. I don't blame him at all.

Mike Epps has grown as a comedian/actor.. don't really care if the movie has Tucker or not.. sad to say because "Money Talks" is my favorite movie

If there wasn't already 4-5 Friday sequels after the original and Chris Tucker and Ice Cube weren't WELL into the 40's this Friday sequel would be OK to make.

They can't play 20 something, living with momma and pops weedheads anymore.

couldnt agree more!! Mike Epps has grown at a faster rate than Chris Tucker has as an actor... Epps would crush any movie you put him in... I'm really not sure about Tucker at this point, I definitely dont want to see a religious Smokey either

yup he will get bank from rush hour 4.

if he did agree to do another friday they would barely be able to pay him enough to cover his IRS problems

friday budget was 3.5million it made 26million
next friday budget was 11million it made 57million
friday after next budget was 20million it made 33million

the fourth friday movies budget would have to be +40million with a large amount of that to get chris to do the movie.

Leave the original friday alone, it was classic. Chris ain't gonna promote weed in the new Friday and that would ruin smokeys character

if the script is right, i got son doing it. there's a maturity level thing which should be accounted for. it would be cool to see him as a dad with a crazy[..] baby moms or some !!...mike epps too. i mean, it's possible. the maturity level of the comedy just has to be better and it could still be silly as !!. he never did say that he wouldn't do it though, to quote someone else. Friday was a classic and no other sequel would be better than the first. the expectations will be too high. it still might happen though. i dont think that cube finished the script yet though. i heard him speak about it about a month ago and he said that he hadn't even spoke to him yet...so they called chris. nothing was finalized but nothing was like hell no. plus he having money issues. i'm pretty sure he'd do it though.

IMO, a Friday movie now wouldn't work. The cast is too old. Everybody gets hyped up for a Friday movie and when it hits and flops, Everybody then comments how they shouldn't have made it. Some movies are just meant to stand alone and Friday is one of em.
