Movies are not bounded by real life rules. Hell the movie could take place 2 months after the last one. Its a comedy. No one says anything abut 40 yr olds running round drunk in The Hangover franchise.

Bet money that at least half of the fools mad at Chris for saying what he said, would be just as pissed if the 4th Friday does comes out and sucks. "They ruined a franchise, this move was wack!"

If he doesn't feel confident about making a dope sequel, it's better that they don't do it at all. Don't force it and end up ruining a classic movie series.

Rush Hour brings in more money. The Friday series has a cult following. It wasn't a a very popular movie in theaters on the level of !! he's willing to star in now.

It's probably the paycheck. He'll be guaranteed a huge check for Rush Hour because they CAN'T do that movie without him and Jackie.

Friday, however, while it'd be great to have him there, they can do it without him. They've already done two without him, albeit not as well received.

And I seriously doubt he'd be getting a 15-20 million dollar check for Last friday like he'll probably get from Rush Hour 4.
