But he wasn't able to fill the Tom Cruise part as producers had hoped, due to his Bad Boys obligations.

First, I know that Will was in MIBII. Second, lets break down your previous post. You said "Will Smith wasn't able to take Cruise's role due to him filming Bad Boys 2". This implies that Tom Cruise was in MIBII, but had Will not been filming Bad Boys 2, he would have played the role that Cruise played. Unless I missed something, Tom Cruise wasn't in MIBII.

Heh. Well, when MIBII was shot, he was doing Minority Report with Spielberg. That's why it was lucky Will was able to step in.
