How's that for a coincidence? (the world in the Marvel comic books is often referred to as the, "616 Universe") Marvel's The Avengers is expected to finish its domestic and worldwide run with this figure...



Forbes reports that Marvel's The Avengers is set to finish its worldwide run with a little more than $1.5 billion in total (it's impossible to be too specific at this point as it doesn't open in Japan until next month). Joss Whedon's superhero ensemble currently sits comfortably at the #3 spot of all-time highest grossing movies and that's where it will end its run, although the fact that it didn't take the top spot certainly doesn't lessen its achievement. Domestically, it has currently accumulated $615.280 million, and is expected to finish at $616 million by the end of next month before going on sale on DVD and Blu-ray in September. Marvel Studios took a big gamble when they decided to kick off a shared universe with 2008's Iron Man, and while there were a few stumbles along the way, it all came to a head with Marvel's The Avengers earlier this year in spectacular fashion. Of course, now that the film has been such a huge success, one the question remains. When will Earth's Mightiest Heroes return to the big screen?! For starters, Marvel Studios will need to get Robert Downey Jr. signed up for more movies (his commitment to them finishes with Iron Man 3).

How are the avengers earth's mightiest heroes when Jean Gray from X-Men can solo the whole !!ing team?

I think Ironman and Robert Downey has alot to do with it, his movies are funny and entertaining which is great for people that don't know much about comics or superheros with disposable income to splurge on tickets

Because jean is really the Phoenix..just a portion that had broken off and became mutant. Overall as isn't considered a mutant anymore because she is a universal entity like galactus [rip] and eternity. So she really doesn't count. And yes white crown of the Phoenix aka Phoenix in her most powerful from can beat the avengers..chick destroyed an entire alternate galaxy. She could just erase them from existence.

Imagine what she'd do to somebody with....no powers

she let him and that was dark phoenix..the weakest form of phoenix..plus dark phoenix wasnt actually jean..it was the phoenix force creating a copy of her. jeans real body after the crash was actually at the bottom of the ocean i believe..i could be wrong on the location..but it was inside of a cocoon that the force recuperating. The force was scared and confused..thus creating the dark phoenix. White phoenix..as jean has been the last few years after her last [rip] is vastly more powerful. They actually ranked her top 5 most powerful beings in marvel under The One Above All (Jack Kirby the writer) and the Living Tribunal. She was tied with [rip] and ternity i believe and one notch above a fully fed Galactus. Only member of Avengers who could have posed a true threat to her at this power level would have been Ruin King Thor..but still he was closer to number 10 most powerful than number 1. If the Dark Phoenix didnt want wolverine to get close to her..she cold have just destroyed him on a molecular level by pure thought.

Before it was said that jean WAS just a host of the phoenix due to her vast telepathy and telekenetic powers but in all actuality she and the phoenix are one in the same. Jeans mutant body can die but she/the force will always resurrect. That was the whole point of the last few years in marvel comics when referencing the Second Coming and Hope Summers. Right now Phoenix is split into Emma Frost, Cyclops, Kitty Pride, Colossus, and Namor (last ive read.) The Phoenix force is the sum of all life that has ever lived and all life that will ever live meaning she is essential to the universe..shes a being created to keep balance in the multi-verse so theoretically and when it comes down to it..No one can k!ll her and if they did then everyone dies (minus other entities).
