it yellows from the natural corrosion of the air what stops it is silica gel packets they usually come in the box but only 1 comes in the box u need atleast 3 in the box it will stop yellowing and prevent it change the packets atleast every 3 months keep em fresh or u could take ur kicks to a packaging place and have them saram wrap ur kicks air tight but ur still gonna need atleast 2 in the box with em

synop has the right idea. But one silica pack is the MAX you should put. For rubber you can use 2 but never let them touch the sneakers. saran wrapping them might help but be very careful of the temperature because if it gets hot the plastic will fuse with the leather and when you try to take it off either it wont come off or the top lyer of the leather is leaving with them. Yellowing is caused by oxidation. Consider the way lettuce turns brown after a while left out. same process only with rubber.in the summer time always keep your kicks in a closet with the fan blowing towards it. just some precautionary tips

never thought about keeping my kicks in the closet with the fan blowing towards them...nice tip...if i got something really nice which i know will be sitting around for awhile ill put them in a plastic baggy...you can buy those big jammies now that you can fit all kinds of stuff in em..Ive left kicks in there for months on end with no problems...keeps the air away from them without going through the trouble or wrapping them up and unwrapping them whenever u wanna wear em..

Some people said to blow air towards it and some people said to keep it airtight.. So which one is it? Do you want air or not?

Cuz I had the window open all summer, and it doesn't even get that hot in summer (80 was about the hottest). They were in a box all summer though.

I kept them in the box while I didn't wear them. I didn't know this happens to white kicks. It actually only happened on part of the shoe. My boy had this happen to his vans very quick, within a month. I dunno how he kept em.

nah Air-Tight is something you definitely do NOT want to do. keep em in the regular box, maybe in some plastic bags if you wanna take it that far. with the fan blowing to keep them cool and dry.

no your not keep ur shoes air tight and kep them at room temperature thats what we mean by keep air condition on em or a fan its to keep them at a resonable temperature that wont allow the syram to fuse with the leather
