Today is Air Jordan XI "Bred" day. For some folks in Alabama, even getting pepper sprayed wasn't enough to make them get off line to purchase a pair of the highly coveted sneakers.

WAFF reports that authorities in Hunstville, Alabama were used pepper spray this morning on an "unruly" crowd that had gathered at the Madison Square Mall since it closed the previous. The police only sprayed the general area, not a specific person, since those who were fighting had dispersed by the time of their arrival on the scene. Ironically, reportedly those lined up weren't even waiting for the kicks. They were waiting for 36 wristbands that allowed them to cop the shoes.

The Air Jordan XI costs $185. Despite Jordan Brand reportedly making 500,000 pairs of the shoes available worldwide, that significant supply is still not enough to meet the shoe's high demand. Last year's release of the Air Jordan XI in the "Concord" colorway resulted in plenty of mayhem.

If you aint in the first 10 people in line you might as well leave. Stores are notorious for carrying one pair in each size. This !! is senseless. Most of the kids in line didnt see Jordan score one point. Getting pepper sprayed all for a man who famously does not like niccas. Oh well. Guess Pac said it best......

I also [pic] when you ask (about upcoming releases) and they tell you they don't know what they are going to get (as in how many/ what sizes or even if the expected shoe) is being delivered.

This story can't be real. Pepper spray is real. Never been sprayed by it, but for niccas to REFUSE medical attention just to keep their spot in line? I'm waving the bull!! flag on that

I don't understand why Nike and Foot Locker have to play games like this smh. All they're doing is giving resellers huge profit margins and getting all the real sneakerheads out the game while causing all this !!ing coonery. 500,000? !! it yo make 5 million and y'all know every single last pair would be sold and they make that much more money. And I know some niccas gonna bring up exclusivity but what number retro 11 is this? Nike through that !! out the window a long time ago..

If Nike mass produced these shoes there wouldn't be any hype, they know what they're doing. Corporate America gives zero !!s about the shoe k!llings and beatings.

It's very real. I live in Huntsville [pic] ... The home of Antoine Dodson, we can't win for nothing. Nike / Jordan brand needs to quit wit the limited supply non-sense.
