 Working out 2 days in a row?

I just lifted yesterday, but wondering if it's ok to lift again today. I heard that you should let your muscles heal a day before lifting again. My cousin, who is really muscular says that he lifts 2 days at a time and then rests for 2 days though. Seems to work for him. What do you guys think? Thanks.

What type of routine are you doing? If it's a 5x5 you need the rest. If you did chest/tris yesterday, and today are gonna do legs today that's fine.

just don't workout the same body part 2 days in a row... how hard is that? lol.. abs could be worked out everyday though i believe.

True, but I won't be working out over the weekend, so since I'm taking 2 days off, I'm wondering if I should work 2 days in a row before a 2 day layoff. So it's not good to work the same muscles 2 days in a row and then allow 2 days in between?

yeah i never work out same body parts consecutively, it is bad because your muscles do need to rest. But usually ill workout 2-3days in a row, then take two days off. its good cause your muscles recover and grow in between those days of rest. Also if you are taking any post protein supplements it helps you recover alot faster so it helps when working out alot more rather than skipping days.

Yeah, 2 days in a row is nothing. Just make sure you're not working the same muscle group those 2 days.

I used to do the same routine everyday, 5 days a week. Never got hurt and yes I did gain and all.. Not saying it'll work for you tho. My body was weird. Cuz around this time I was smoking like 2 packs a day and drinking my a.ss off every night. How I didn't fall out is beyond me, lol.

here is a nice workout split but this is for no begginer. Monday-Chest/triceps, Tuesday-Back/Biceps, Wendsday-Rest, Thursday-Shoulders/Traps, Friday-Biceps/Triceps, Saturday-Quads/Hams/Calves.
