your body needs to rest

when do you give your muscle time to repair

rest your body and allow your muscles to recover at least one day a week...well recovery is 2 days....you will notice the difference when you do this... the next time you work out a certain muscle you will be stronger and can lift heavier..for example i do my legs once a week and the next week my legs are stronger and i can lift 20-30 pounds more than the previous week..same is true for upper body muscles..

Ignorant. He just started lifting. Do you expect him to gain weight immediately by lifting 50lbs from the start? That's how you pull a muscle. And working out at home is fine. I have a friend who has put on pounds of muscle using free weights and his body weight.

I workout 5 days a week, take the weekends off. I work out my whole body everyday. Resting is necessary and you need a good diet. If you're looking to gain muscle, it's necessary for you to eat properly and take in a lot of protein.

I sleep at 10-11pm every night, and get up at 4am to gym it. I suggested you get enough rest even though I may not at times, but I get well deserved rest over the weekend. Good luck[pic]

I don't see anything wrong if you have good protein intake.

a lot of dumba#s advice in this thread..

listen, you can do calisthenics every day. that !! will not fry your CNS in the least bit. the load is just way too light and this is why you can do an enormous amount of volume - the intensity is just too little. ask people in the military..

once you actually start putting up real weight and you're squatting, deadlifting, pressing, then yeah, rest days and deload weeks are encouraged. until then, push up and sit up away..
