| Nah but in all seriousness. I want to get big. I'm scrawny. And I am tired of being scrawny. Did two sets of ten pushups this morning. 50 situps. but I had to get ready for work. Had a fried egg sandwich for breakfast and pb&j with some chips for lunch. Cooking up some whole grain spaghetti at the moment and some ragu sauce with some extra veggies added. This is about average for my diet. There were somedays when I could just load up on food all I wanted but never really gained any weight. And if I did it was only for a little bit. Can anyone suggest a good diet program? something that is easy to follow, none of that "eat this on monday, eat this on tuesday" or any order their food type deals. I'm a big boy I can cook for myself. | |

| I honestly would eat what ever you want but just make sure you are getting like 5000 calories at the end of the day. Just do that for a while and see if you don't pick up weight. I would progressively increase the amount of push ups and sit ups you do. Like in a day or two do 3 sets of 10 or 2 sets of 15 then increase it the next workout and so forth. I would also get one of those doorway pull up bars and start working on that. Just do as many as you can. Try and get like 20 reps. If you have to do one then stop then do another one thats fine. It'll get easier with time. Also do like 100 bodyweight squats. I'm not exactly sure how many you can do but start with that. If it's too hard drop it to 50 then work your way up. | I'm not getting paid from mutant mass or anything... but thats the weight gainer that tasted good and gained me a lot of weight. cookies and cream is some tasty !!. I just drank that like 3 times a day plus working out and eating meals inbetween. Thats the weight gainer I got, because the reviews were really good. Peace. | |

| i was relatively skinny when i started out and listened to advice i got online like "eat everything in sight" , don't listen to that dumb shyt. You want to put on muscle not fat, trust me if you lift hard, get your PROTEIN and some creatine + a 2-3 decent meals a day you will achieve your goals but don't gorge its NOT NECESSARY. Its going to take you time, there are no shortcuts, the most important thing is your WORKOUT, trust me a as skinny as you are you will see great gains in 6 months w/ hard workouts don't worry about bulking just get your proper protein ALWAYS! two sets of pushups and a set of situps tho is not going to do it for you, if you have trouble staying motivated to push yourself to work out hard then grab a PWO like CRAZE. Do body weight exercises like pullup, pushups and when it comes to weights i would only focus on compound movements like squats , deadlift, bench, overhead press for the first couple months. Get u 5lb protein, tub of creatine, tub of craze for a lil more than $100 and YOU'RE GOOD!!!! other than that eat sum greens/ fruits with ya meals, get your rest Last edited by WordOnThaStreet; 07-06-2012 at 01:03 PM.. | |

| i dont really have advice to give, but im a relatively skinny guy. i'm 5'9 and ive always weighed around 150-155. i recently started back to working out and trying to put on mass. i put on 2.5 lbs in the past week while my gut has slimmed down, that's enough motivation for me to keep doing what im doing. i drink 2-3 protein shakes a day...meals inbetween, i try to eat clean but if i cant im eating whatever i can get...then i take 5 grams of creatine a day + drink around 5-6 bottles of water. im not gonna say its the best method, but for me it has definitely been working in the 2 week span of me starting. and maybe its just water weight that ive gained, but i see and feel a significant difference. i never feel bloated. all i do is compound excercises and lift heavy. 5 sets of 5. squats, bench, military press, bent over rows, and 1 set of deadlifts. im gonna work in some pulls up starting next week. oh and i only work out 3 days a week. no way i could do more with my work schedule and how hard i push myself when i go i lurk this section and there are so many diff tips on what to do, i figured id just share my experience so far. and like wordonthestreet said, get some rest! ive had days lately where i sleep 9+ hours and feel great afterwards Last edited by iPunish901; 07-06-2012 at 08:13 PM.. | |

| Just started a boxing class at LAboxing. It was only an hour but One of the hardest workouts I have ever done. It helps having a finnneee coach though. Makes the squats that much easier to deal with. Arms are currently still shaking a bit. I am[..]uming this is good and that they will hurt a lot more tomorrow. Those gloves start to get real heavy after a while. Thank for all the advice guys, but I believe I found my motivation. | |

| But does the diet really play that big of a role? I mean somedays I can eat a boat load of food, others I barely eat anything. I've been trying to regulate it but just seems like a lot of work with not much results, I'm not trying to get huge bulky. Just enough to have some meat on my bones. But Im not about to start drinking protein shakes or anything. I try to eat some kid of fruit throughout the day, but that's for a different reason haha. | |
