 how many sit ups should you do when starting out?

im tryna get defined and toned, so i decided to start the daily sit ups regimen. i did 20 this morning after i woke up and i was wondering if that's too little to start with. Should i do more, and how many should i do.

also is it advisable to do it twice a day, after i wake up and before i hit the sack?

what's your bodyfat percentage? if it's not low, no matter how many crunches you do, you're not going to see anything.

Are u serious?? You telling me increasing the amount of crunches u can do won't show results overtime. Have fun with your backwards a$s way of thinking.

i use to do 150 in the morning and night..50 crunches and split the rest of the 100 for my side crunches..it worked for me but i started just m-w-f and t-thr lowered it to 25 each..its not a bad routine and you will see results if you do it right..if you eat alot of fatty or fried foods just try to eliminate them and also get some cardio in because thats what will show results faster, atleast for my body it did.

he wants to see his abs. so we are a$suming his bodyfat is already low. therefore we train the abs just like any other muscle you want to see/ get bigger.

unless you are a fat a$s doing lots of crunches will show som eresults.. but you wont have that cut up six pack unless you diet and rip cardio... but crucnhes alone will get you some definition just clealry not as much
